Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - (CRNA) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 05/14/2013Avail! able Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Great opportunity for a CRNA at a level one trauma center in Ohio. Facility needs 2 CRNA's to cover 2-3 days per week ongoing, starting in mid-May once trauma season starts. M-F, 7am - 3:30pm (hours on Wednesday are 7:30am - 4pm). Very fast paced environment, no down-time associated with this position. Candidates will work a full day. Responsibilities include working in the main surgery department and orthopedic center. 4-6 cases performed per day on average, including bread and butter, Urology, ENT, Neurology, general GYN, EPS, Vascular, Orthopedic, and trauma procedures. No pediatrics under 10 years of age, no hearts/thoracic, no OB. No call. Level one trauma experience required. Candidates will be supervised and must have superior clinical abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and a strong work ethic.
A certified registered nurse anesthetist (locum tenens) administers anesthesia in surgeries as required by, or in the absence of! , an anesthesiologist physician. A CRNA will look at patient h! istory in a preoperative setting in order to determine an optimal course of action, choosing the techniques and drugs that best suit the patient's unique physiology and medical history. During surgery, it is the CRNAs job to administer anesthesia and manage the patient's reactions accordingly.
