Vacation and Sick Time. AIA recognizes how important vacation and time-off is to th! e clinical staff, as well as recovering from a sickness. We al! so believe in seniority, and the commitment that an individual makes in becoming a long-term employee. AIA has elected to implement a Paid Time Off Policy (PTO) where days are granted to an employee for the year, and the employee can use them, as they need them. Time can be used as vacation, personal days, or sick days.

PTO is granted as follows:
During the 1st thru 5 years of employment . 5 weeks (25) days/200 hours granted for use January 1st of the beginning of the calendar year. The hours are earned as 16.67 hrs of regular time paid per calendar month of employment.

During the 6th thru 15 years of employment. 6 weeks (30) days/240 hours granted for use January 1st of the beginning of the calendar year. The hours are earned as 20 hours of regular time paid per calendar month of employment. PTO is earned proportionately for each 40-hour week actually worked during the current year. If you have five years of previous anesthetist experience, you! will receive six weeks of PTO time when you begin employment. PTO time may be taken in whole days or hours. PTO is paid at your regular pay rate.

Holidays. AIA also provides for six paid holidays including Christmas Day, New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day. If a holiday falls on Saturday, Friday would be the recognized day off, or if the holiday falls on Sunday, then Monday would be recognized as the day off. Holidays are paid at your regular pay rate. If you work on a holiday, you will receive time and a half for your hours worked.

Life & Disability. AIA knows the importance of providing family income when an employee becomes ill or disabled for a period of time. To meet this need, AIA provides a long-term disability program to protect you and your family. You become eligible on the 1st of the month following one-month of employment.

Long Term Disability. It is available to employees that work at least 30 hours! per week, and begins paying, generally after 3 months. The plan provid! es 50% of your income up to a $100,000 income level for as long as your disabled. Certain restrictions apply, see the Assurant Group benefits booklet for details. The plan is paid entirely by AIA for employees that work at least 30 hours per week.

  • You may elect to have AIA s monthly premium added to your pay as a benefit adjustment, and pay for your disability premium yourself as an after tax benefit. This election would then allow any proceeds that you receive while disabled to be tax free to you.
Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D). To protect your survivors from financial hardship in the event of your death, AIA offers group life insurance. It is available to employees that work at least 30 hours per week. You become eligible following one-month of employment. The Life Insurance plan pays benefits to your survivors if you die from any cause. The plan is equal to your annual base 40-hour salary rounded up to next higher multipl! e of $1,000, up to $100,000. The AD&D insurance pays benefits if you die as the result of an accident or if you suffer certain physical losses as the result of an accident. The plan is paid entirely by AIA for employees that work at least 30 hours per week. Certain restrictions apply; see the Assurant Group benefits booklet for details.

  • You may elect to have AIA s monthly premium added to your pay as a benefit
adjustment, and pay for your disability premium yourself as an after tax benefit. This election would then allow any proceeds that you receive while disabled to be tax free to you.
  • If you have your own disability and life insurance policy, you may opt out of
the plan offered by the Corporation. The Corporation will include the $150 per monthly premium in your pay check. $75 would be added as a gross adjustment, the first two pays of the month.

Health Care and Reimbursement Account Plans. Reimbursement account p! lans, or better know as Health Savings Account, let you put aside money! that can be used for certain otherwise non-reimbursable health care expenses. A $2,000 contribution under the HSA is made by the Corporation for each employee, and the employee may also contribute to the plan. Employee contributions are deducted from your paycheck before federal and most state taxes are withheld, thereby lowering your taxable income. Both full-time and part-time employees may participate. This plan is administered by Mellon Bank.

Medical Insurance. AIA offers a PPO comprehensive health care and prescription coverage with Anthem BCBS to all employees that are scheduled to work in excess of 30 hours per week. The plan provides for maximum coverage for the use of providers that are in their Network. Lower benefits can be expected if care is received from non-network providers. You become eligible for coverage on the first of the month following your 1st day of employment. Dependents are covered through age 24. Certain restrictions apply, see the Anth! em BCBS Group benefits booklet for details.
