About the World Broadband Association

The World Broadband Association (WBBA) is a multilateral, industry-led association, providing leadership for digital broadband across the next decade.

Our objective is to overcome industry challenges and support the drive towards the provision of broadband networks and services for all. With a goal of accelerating the healthy development of the industry, with sustainable benefits for stakeholders, end users, and society.

Since it’s official launch in June 2021, the WBBA has grown rapidly in terms of number of members and the delivery of a wide portfolio of research, event and digital media activities designed to raise brand awareness, increase influence and industry leadership and grow the membership. The initial success of the WBBA presents opportunities for further accelerated growth, both in terms of new member acquisition and delivery of value to existing members.


Job Description


Key Responsibilities

  • Prospecting to create a robust pipeline of potential members from target segments through data analytics and the planning and execution of demand generation activities (via email, phone, social media, in-person)
  • Convert leads and acquire new members
  • Qualify new member opportunities through proactive follow-up with inbound leads
  • Develop a robust member acquisition strategy for each target segment and region, aligned with the WBBA’s overall strategy
  • Host a regular cross-team meeting (including Marketing Executive, General Manager and other Informa Tech sales channels) to review pipeline and conversion, and associated challenges, pace and feedback
  • Provide feedback to General Manager, Marketing Executive, other Informa Tech sales channels, sponsors and members as to market perceptions of the WBBA, to support proposition development and go-to-market improvements.
  • Actively maintain new members pipeline - with opportunity stages - so that your pipeline is a true and accurate indicator of prospects' statuses; utilize pipeline reports to provide new member forecasts to management, sponsors and members.
  • Attend /participate in WBBA, Informa Tech and other industry relevant seminars, associations, events, conference and competitor events where appropriate
  • Work with qualified member prospects through the onboarding process to complete their membership application, before handing off to WBBA Community Manager for ongoing member management

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of proven inside sales experience, ideally in a membership / trade association environment
  • Demonstrable experience/track record performing in a new business hunter role in B2B environment
  • Strong comfort level pitching to a variety of senior-level prospects
  • Enthusiastic, competitive, results-driven and solutions-orientated attitude with a strong work ethic
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills - must be detail-oriented
  • Proficient with corporate productivity and presentation tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Driven and motivated to achieve goals and quotas
  • Proven ability to use initiative when required and go ‘above and beyond’ in order to deliver on targets
  • Self-starter approach to work, with strong attention to detail
