At Laser Spine Institute, our CRNAs provide direct care to our patients, within a world-class facility and patient-centric environment, by administering anesthetic agents relative to current an esthesia procedures (including the delineation of pre-anesthesia). The CRNA will perform all duties under the direct supervision of a physician. During the procedure, the CRNA will carefully monitor the patientâs vital signs and comfort while making appropriate adjustments in anesthesia. The CRNA is responsible for ensuring that the Surgeon is consistently informed of the patientâs progress during the procedure. The CRNA will keep accurate records of the patientâs status in accordance with local, state, federal, and applicable laws. Essential Functions - Duties & Responsibilities
Support life functions during the administration of anesthesia including induction intubation and emergency intubation. Is able to recognize and take appropriate corrective action for any abnormal response to the anesthesia administered and notifies the physician of any such changes.
Ascertain that there is an appropriate pre-anesthetic examination recorded on the patientâs chart by the anesthesiologist. Complete th e appropriate forms and pre-anesthesia evaluation.
Review patientâs medical and surgical history, X-ray, lab, ECG reports and appropriate consents, in consultation with the involved physician(s).
Assemble all equipment necessary for each specific patient and check for safety and function and record daily as required by all applicable laws.
Provide observation and care until the patient has regained total control of vital signs and the patientâs reflexes are intact or until they have been relieved by a trained PACU RN.
Maintain complete and accurate anesthetic records to include untoward reactions to anesthetic agents and/or drugs.
Accompany patient to recovery room while maintaining adequate airway. Provides full report to recovery room nurse including patientâs surgery, vital signs, surgery performed, anesthesia and medications given along with any anticipated problems.
Comply with all mandatory continuing education requirements of AANA recerti fication within the appropriate state.
Follow drug control policies, participates in drug counts and resolves any discrepancies. Reportsunresolved discrepancies to supervisor.
Participates in cost-saving policies and measures.
Complies with all facility policies and procedures, as well as safety, disaster and fire prevention programs.
Participates in QI/RM anesthesia activities.

Qualifications & Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Minimum of 2 years experience in anesthesia with appropriate state license to practice as a nurse anesthetist
Must be fluent in English
Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills
Must be organized and work efficiently under pressure
Must be patient-focused and compassionate
Must be customer-service oriented
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's deg ree
Must be current ACLS certified
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree
