Job Description:

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Processes pre-admission and admissions.
Reviews hospital admissions to ensure accurate financial and demographic data and documentation have been obtained and properly entered into the hospital records.
When applicable, verifies insurance benefits assigned to the hospital to determine if insurance coverage meets the standards of admission as stated in hospital policy.
Explains financial requirements to the patient or responsible party and collects deposits or deductibles as required.
Immediately notifies Manager/Financial Counselor concerning admissions that do no meet the hospital financial policy criteria.
Processes work within standards set by Department Manager.
Assists the supervisor with census control and census corrections.
Schedules and coordinates appointments for blood transfusions and chemotherapy.
Compiles and distributes information regarding patients’ personal, insurance, and financial status. Updates registration information as more becomes available. Provides appropriate forms to billing and other departments.
Maintains department records, reports, and files as required.
Makes bed assignments based on availability, patient preference, condition, and diagnosis.
Maintains and cares for department equipment and supplies.

EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
On-the-job or equivalent training in medical registration procedures.
1 year recent registration experience in acute care setting preferred. Flexible assessment will be utilized.
Epic EHR experience.
PAY RANGE: $ 27.29 - $ 34.56 / HOUR

Pay Range is $27.29 to $34.56 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
