This position is responsible to perform first assistant responsibilities under the direction of the surgeon and in accordance to the privileges gran! ted by the Medical Staff through the credentialing process. Works closely with the surgeons, anesthesiologist, and nurses to assure the delivery of safe quality, age specific care to patients throughout the perioperative period. Facilitates the surgeon in the performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. Communicates and collaborates with other healthcare team members. Adheres to organizational policies and procedures; regulatory/ accrediting body requirements; and professional practice standards. Care will be provided to patients of all ages from neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult to geriatric.
Requirements Include:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Surgical Technology Program and/or current CST certification from the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist (LCC-ST) preferred.
Minimum o! f two (2) years experience working as a Surgical Technologist ! in lieu of formal education/certification.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification required.
