Position Descript! ion:
Works under the supervision of CRNA and Medical supervision of the Department of Anesthesiology. Provides ancillary duties and may provide direct patient care as ordered. Assists Anesthesia staff by setting up, calibrating, checking all anesthesia equipment to be used on patients being prepared for surgery; patient positioning; lead/sensor placements; monitoring; anesthesia machine adjustments; programming infusion devices; rapid infusers; operating ancillary devices such as nerve stimulators, ultrasounds, fiberoptic intubation scopes, and I-Stats; assists with IV placement; assists with intubation and difficult intubations; assisting with specialized airway or equipment setups and operation, and may operate Cell Savers, or other specialized equipment; cleans and maintains designated areas and equipment within the Anesthesia / Operating Room Department; assist with room turnovers; maintains room stock levels orders pharmaceuticals; and assists with inventory ma! nagement; prepares instrumentation for sterilization; and othe! r duties as required.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent and Associate degree in a state approved Anesthesia Technology or Surgical Technology program required. If not certified at time of hire, ASATT certification will be required within one year after becoming eligible for certification. Ability to follow oral and written instructions effectively; general mechanical skill, ability to understand medical terminology and relate it to the equipment and supplies used in the administration of anesthetics.
