The Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting for a part time (5/8ths) Pain Management Physician. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Pain Management Physician will join 5 physicians, 2 psychologists and 4 extenders, along with 12 nurses and staff who work in a collaborative manner to sustain the different state-of-the-art layers of the division of Pain Medicine. These include the CARF-accredited Intensive Outpatient P! rogram (IOP), a nationally-renowned tele-health program, a state-of-the! -art 2-room invasive procedure suite, and a well-organized inpatient consult service. There is also ample opportunity for research and innovative thinking, as the Division of Pain Medicine sustains a major health care delivery grant (SCAN-ECHO).
Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses are authorized for this position.
Required Skills:
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: In order to qualify for this position you must meet the following requirements:
- U.S Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens).
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Completion of first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any State! , Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Must be a board certified or eligible anesthesiologist or physiatrist.
- Must have completed a ACGME accredited fellowship in pain medicine.
- Must be proficient in contemporary interventional pain management techniques, including spinal cord stimulation and intrathecal pump technology.
- Must be proficient in spine procedures and various decompression techniques.
- Demonstrated research experience.

determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected. The recommended
salary may be at any poin! t in the range listed for this vacancy.
