DUTIES: The Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting for a full time Pain Management Physician. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Pain Man! agement Physician will join 5 physicians, 2 psychologists and 4 extende! rs, along with 12 nurses and staff who work in a collaborative manner to sustain the different state-of-the-art layers of the division of Pain Medicine. These include the CARF-accredited Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), a nationally-renowned tele-health program, a state-of-the-art 2-room invasive procedure suite, and a well-organized inpatient consult service. There is also ample opportunity for research and innovative thinking, as the Division of Pain Medicine sustains a major health care delivery grant (SCAN-ECHO). Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses are authorized for this position.

Required Skills:
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: In order to qualify for this position you must meet the following requirements:

  • U.S Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens).
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or ! osteopathic medicine.
  • Completion of first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Must be a board certified or eligible anesthesiologist.
  • Must have completed a ACGME accredited fellowship in pain medicine.
  • Must be proficient in contemporary interventional pain management techniques, including spinal cord stimulation and intrathecal pump technology.
  • Must be proficient in spine procedures and various decompression techniques.
  • Demonstrated research experience.
