The Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center is a 673-bed tertiary healthcare facility which provides care to over 100,000 veterans in northern Ohio. We provide care through our main medical facility at the Wade Park campus, 13 community based outpatient clinics, and 3 vet centers. The medical center has been recognized for more programs of excellence than any other Veterans Affairs Medical Center. These progr! ams of excellence include: Open Heart Surgery, Care of the Ser! iously Mentally Ill, Geriatric Evaluation and Management, Substance Abuse Care, Spinal Cord Injury Care, Medical Care of the Homeless, Domiciliary Care of the Homeless, Functional Electrical Stimulation, Advance Platform Technology, Primary Care Education, and Patient-Centered Specialty Care Education. KEY REQUIREMENTS

U.S. Citizenship.
Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required.
Occupational physical may be required.
Designated and/or Random Drug Testing required.
Background and/or Security Investigation required.

English Language Proficiency required. DUTIES:
The Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting for a full time Pain Management Physician. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Pain Management Physician will join 5 physicians, 2 psychologists and 4 extenders, along with 12 nurses and staff who work in a collaborative manner to sustain the different state-of-the-art layers of the division of Pain Medicine. These incl! ude the CARF-accredited Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), a nationall! y-renowned tele-health program, a state-of-the-art 2-room invasive procedure suite, and a well-organized inpatient consult service. There is also ample opportunity for research and innovative thinking, as the Division of Pain Medicine sustains a major health care delivery grant (SCAN-ECHO).
Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses are authorized for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
In order to qualify for this position you must meet the following requirements:

U.S Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens).

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.

Completion of first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.

Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a! ny State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

Must be a board certified or eligible anesthesiologist, psychiatrist, physiatrist.
Must have completed a fellowship (ACGME or non-ACGME accredited) in pain medicine or spine care, or have documented experience in invasive spine procedures.
Must be proficient in contemporary interventional pain management techniques.
Must be proficient in spine procedures and various decompression techniques.

Preferred Experience:
Research experience or interest.
Proficient in implantation of spinal cord stimulator and intrathecal pump technology.
Disc Decompression techniques.
