Description: Nationwide Children's Hospital is currently interviewing Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist right now, this occupation will be settled in Ohio. RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE GENERAL SUMMARY The CRNA performs a preoperative assessment/chart review of the patient to formulate an anesthet! ic plan according to the individual needs of the patient. The CRNA responds appropriately to any significant physiological, anesthesia changes and treats accordingly, informing the staff anesthesiologist when appropriate. The CRNA provides for optimum resuscitative care for life threatening conditions and/or emergent situations in the hospital. The CRNA will assist with orientation of new CRNA staff.

The CRNA will assist with orientation and instruction of student nurse anesthetists, resident physicians and other anesthesia personnel. The CRNA will assist in the evaluation of these professional personnel and report to the Director of Clinical Education according to policy stated by the Department of Anesthesiology. The CRNA attends educational offerings and in-services to maintain and expand clinical knowledge base. The CRNA implement anesthesia practice changes based on research findings and current standards by demonstrating the use of accepted anesthesia technol! ogy and pharmacology.

The CRNA participates in resear! ch projects as directed. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS The CRNA must be a graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing with current licensure as an RN in the state of Ohio and the CRNA must be a graduate of an accredited school of nurse anesthesia with eligibility for membership with the AANA and demonstrate eligibility for or completion of the AANA national examination. The CRNA demonstrates professional and ethical conduct and compassion in all patient interactions and demonstrates respect and concern for all members of the health care team. Must be able to successfully pass at 100% the Pediatric Dosage Calculation Exam - post offer & pre-hire.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to see, hear, stand, walk, speak, read and perform manual tasks with or without accommodation, and care for oneself with little or no difficulty. Must be able to independently lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with the assistance! of another person(s) and/or equipment.
